What people ask us before heading up

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Where can I park? How far is it to the hut?
The forest road up to the hut is reserved for residents. Park at the Ursprungpass car park — from there it's about 60 minutes on foot, with 285 m of elevation gain.
  • Are dogs allowed at the hut?
Yes, dogs are very welcome. Please be considerate of other guests and the grazing animals — keeping dogs on a lead makes things easier for everyone.
  • Can we come with kids or a stroller?
Kids are absolutely welcome. Strollers won't work on the trail — the paths are partly steep and uneven. A child carrier is the better choice.
  • Is there mobile reception? Do we need to book?
Mobile reception at the hut is patchy depending on your carrier. No reservation is needed for a table — just drop in. For overnight stays or events, please send an enquiry in advance.
  • Can I pay by card?
We take cash only. Card payments aren't available — please bring enough cash before heading up.
